The project originates from the historical headquarters of the bank Banco di Napoli
The project originates from the historical headquarters of the bank Banco di Napoli, a mighty building in the city centre of Lecce inaugurated in 1930. In 2009, entrepreneur Renè De Picciotto acquired the property and initiated a far-sighted renovation and reconversion process entrusted to architect Lucia Bianco and engineer Luciano Ostuni, which led to the birth of Palazzo BN, an elegant temple of hospitality and gastronomy.
The restyling began actively in 2018 and involved the entire building: the basement, where the bank’s former vaults once stood, is now a Wellness Boutique dedicated to wellness. It is not just a gym, but an exclusive place for personal well-being. On the ground floor there is an outstanding Food Court with an extensive gastronomic offer. Thirteen flats are built on the first and second floors; they are spacious, designed for those who do not want to give up all the comforts of a large hotel, even when on holiday for just a few days. Each living unit is enriched with high-quality, Made-in-Italy furnishing of renowned design. The roof has now become Terrazza BN, a panoramic roof garden open to the public.

A perfect dialogue with existing materials, between revisitation and tradition
The project involves the use of I Naturali, Ossido and Calce, and IN-SIDE collections, chosen in eight finishes that are skilfully integrated into the floors, wall cladding or design furniture complements, in a perfect dialogue with existing materials, between revisitation and tradition.
The project aims to offer an immersive experience accompanied by the suggestions of antique elements, such as vaults, marble floors and walls, interior doors, grilles and chandeliers, all restructured into precious vintage touches that become an integral part of the furniture.
The perfect combination of design and taste
Palazzo BN is also the perfect combination of design and taste. The bar counter located in the Food Court features the Ossido collection, chosen in the Bruno shade with Laminam 5+ thickness in the 1620×3240 mm large size: this material simulates the oxidation process of copper plates and captures the iridescent shades of metal subject to the passing of time.
The 13 residences are located between the first and second floor of the building; they are enriched with high quality furnishing and unique design. In line with its philosophy, the aim was to create not just a serial space but a ‘place with a soul’, featured by a strong expressiveness.

A place with a soul
Palazzo BN can be defined as a ‘pharaonic’ project completed in record time: in little more than a year, architect Lucia Bianco and engineer Luciano Ostuni carried out a thorough work, following the restoration down to the smallest detail: “As if we lived there”. Today the building is an iconic example of conservative restoration carried out with cutting-edge technological materials, rigorously Made in Italy. It is a recovery project that combines private entrepreneurship, public interest and local workers, returning the former Banco di Napoli not only to the tourists who will inhabit it, but also to the Lecce citizens who will be able to experience its spaces and enjoy an architectural asset of historical-monumental value.

El proyecto sale de la sede histórica del Banco di Napoli
El proyecto sale de la sede histórica del Banco di Napoli, un espectacular edificio en el centro de la ciudad de Lecce inaugurado en 1930. En 2009, el empresario Renè De Picciotto adquirió la propiedad e inició un proceso de reestructuración y conversión con visión de futuro liderado por la arquitecta Lucia Bianco y el ingeniero Luciano Ostuni, que llevó al nacimiento del Palazzo BN, un elegante templo dedicado a la hospitalidad y la gastronomía.
La restauración comenzó activamente en 2018 y afectó a todo el edificio: el sótano, donde una vez estuvieron las antiguas cámaras acorazadas del banco, ahora es una Wellness Boutique dedicada al bienestar. No se trata de un simple gimnasio, ya que se ha concebido como un lugar exclusivo para el bienestar de los clientes. En la planta baja encontramos un increíble Food Court con una amplia oferta gastronómica. Se han construido trece amplios apartamentos entre la primera y la segunda planta, pensados para todos aquellos que no quieren renunciar a todas las comodidades de un gran hotel, aunque estén de vacaciones durante unos pocos días. Cada residencia cuenta con muebles de alta calidad completamente Made in Italy y un diseño blasonado. La cubierta ahora se ha convertido en la Terrazza BN, un jardín panorámico en la azotea abierto al público general.

Una experiencia inmersiva acompañada del encanto de elementos antiguos
En el proyecto se han utilizado las colecciones I Naturali, Ossido y Calce, e IN-SIDE, en ocho acabados sabiamente integradas como pavimento, revestimiento o accesorios de decoración, en un diálogo perfecto con los materiales existentes, entre la reinterpretación y la tradición.
El proyecto tiene como objetivo ofrecer una experiencia inmersiva acompañada del encanto de elementos antiguos como bóvedas, suelos y paredes de mármol, puertas interiores, rejas y candelabros, reconstruidos con preciosos toques vintage que se convierten en un elemento más del mobiliario.

Il perfetto connubio di design e gusto
Palazzo BN es también la combinación perfecta de diseño y gusto. La barra ubicada en el Food Court utiliza la colección Ossido, elegida en el tono Bruno con espesor Laminam 5+ en el gran formato 1620×3240 mm: un material que, simulando el proceso de oxidación de las placas de cobre, captura las tonalidades iridiscentes del objeto metálico sujeto al paso del tiempo.
Entre el primer y segundo piso del edificio hay 13 apartamentos decorados con muebles de alta calidad y un diseño único. En línea con su filosofía, queríamos crear un espacio diferente a todos los demás, un «lugar con alma», caracterizado por una fuerte expresividad.
La intención del proyecto de restauración era establecer un diálogo con el mundo, dando un ambiente internacional a las estancias sin distorsionarlas
Un «lugar con alma»
El Palazzo BN se puede definir como un proyecto «faraónico» que finalizó en un tiempo récord; en poco más de un año, la arquitecta Lucia Bianco y el ingeniero Luciano Ostuni llevaron a cabo un minucioso trabajo siguiendo el proceso de restauración hasta el último detalle: «Como si fuera nuestra casa». Actualmente, el edificio es un ejemplo icónico de restauración conservadora realizada con materiales tecnológicos de vanguardia y rigurosamente Made in Italy, un proyecto de recuperación que combina el espíritu empresarial privado, el interés público y los trabajadores locales, devolviendo el antiguo Banco di Napoli no solo a los turistas, sino también a los ciudadanos que podrán disfrutar de los espacios de esta joya arquitectónica con un gran valor histórico y monumental.
